Matthew James Hairston leikmaður Stjörnunnar hefur sett inn afsökunarbeiðni á Facebook-síðu sína vegna atviksins sem átti sér stað í viðureign Skallagríms og Stjörnunnar í gærkvöldi þar sem Hairston gerðist sekur um að gefa Agli Egilssyni olnbogaskot. Í afsökunarbeiðni sinni á Facebook segir Hairston m.a. að hann hafi haft rangt við og að hann sé búinn að ræða um málið við Egil Egilsson leikmann Skallagríms.
Afsökunarbeiðni Hairston á Facebook:
Last night during our game an incident occur with me and another player from the other team. A incident that I am not to proud to be apart of. I am not a dirty basketball player. I love everything there is about this game and being able to play it on a professional level. I have spoken to Egill and apologize for my action towards him. I take full responsibility for my action and I am deeply sorry to all parties involved. To the Fans and supporters of Stjarnan I am sorry for having this type of publicity put on the program. I can assure you that this will never happen again. To Egill Egilsson I am sorry for letting my frustration about the game cause me to hit you with a elbow. I wish I could take it back but unfortunately i cant but what I can do is admit that I was Wrong and I am sorry. Would like to wish Skallagrimur the best of luck with the rest of there season and I hope all parties can move forward.
